Study on the strength of reactive dyes: The influence of the functional group on colouring of the cotton fabrics
Abstract
Reactive dyes represent the most important group of dyes for dyeing cotton materials. The chemical reaction that occurs during dyeing depends on the structure of the dye and more technological parameters. In industrial dyeing, from an economic and environmental point of view, it is very important to achieve the required shade with minimal consumption of chemicals and natural resources. In this paper the quality of dyeing of cotton fabrics achieved by the reactive dyes of different functional groups is studied. In the range of colors used, it has been found that the color intensities of the cotton fabric vary significantly depending on the functional group of color and the depth of hue and has important practical importance for the choice of colors in trichromatic dyeing.
