The polychrome marbles in Granadine baroque art. News about the stonemason Salvador de León
Abstract
Decorations based on inlaid polychrome marbles are a distinctive element of the East Andalusian Baroque. The altar-tables represent exceptional examples of this artistic work, but they are often unnoticed. Thanks to the identification of the stonemason Salvador de León as author of the altar-table of the former convent of Augustinian Recollects in Luque (Cordoba) it is now possible to attribute to him other works in Granada, tracking his career in this city.
