Research as a problem and as an attitude
Abstract
The idea of the university as a refuge where knowledge matures away from the concerns of everyday life and where people go to drink in the compound of wisdom has become anachronistic. Thinking about the current university places us in a completely new place and disposition. Describing some of the forces and the effects that run through it supposes the sketch of a new cartography. Relocation landscape of increasingly problematic practices, for example, research practices, training practices, evaluative practices, management practices, professionalization practices, accreditation practices, among others. Such a landscape seems to delineate both a malaise and the emergence of a certain political and economic rationality that explains the future vocation of a higher education institution that is increasingly entrepreneurial and committed to learning.
