Restoration of London type of first earthworm – Lumbricus terrestris Linnaeus, 1758 (Annelida: Oligochaeta: Lumbricidae), and setting aside of a ‘neo-neotype’

Abstract

Neotype of the first earthworm species, Lumbricus terrestris Linneaus, 1758, designated by Sims (1973) is restored. The unnecessary replacement neo-neotype by James et al. (2010) is set aside.
