The aim of this essay consists of identifying, making visible, describing and comparing the teaching practices carried out by the “best teachers” of technological area of the Vigo University. In order to achieve it, we set out a qualitative design through the technical meeting to the declared practices and the observation to the carried/observed practices. Before mentioning the main conclusions, we must state that we were interested on searching for references of the “good practices”, not on evaluating the teaching practices, good or bad, of the teachers of the University of Vigo. The main conclusion is that even among the “best rated teachers” of technological area, some teaching practices dominate and these practices could be mainly included in the traditional perspective of education, one model focused on the teacher and the contents of the disciplines. These results are not surprising. In any case, they should not lead us to disregard the interest of studying and making visible the practices of highly rated teachers, although such practices are not truly innovative.
