Les frontières maritimes : quelles spécificités ? L’exemple des mers d’Asie du Sud-Est

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the specificities of a maritime border and to present a synthesis of their contemporary issues from the case of Southeast Asia. Analysis is mostly focused on three questions: 1/ The difficulties of reconciling the principles of freedom of the seas and national sovereignty; 2/ The multiplication of border conflicts but also of cooperation agreements in connection with the maritimization of the States. 3/ The renewal of the approach to the issues of maritime borders following the need to take into account the different perceptions of marine spaces but also the emergence of a global governance awareness of the fragility of marine ecosystems.
