THIRD AGE UNIVERSITY IN THE SYSTEM OF ELDER PEOPLE’S EDUCATION IN GERMANY

This article examines the main provisions of the theory and practice of elder people’s education at German Universities. In the article, the authors analyze the organization of additional education for the elderly. The authors point out that elder people set their own personal goals, selecting the most important activities from regular educational services, and creating their own training program. The originality is in the fact that the article considers and characterizes one of the forms of a third-age University that has been successfully operating for many decades on the basis of traditional education at Universities Germany. The results showed that education for elder people, which is separated from the so-called conventional adult education. It allows ones to provide a flexible state of education that is oriented to individual needs and interests of consumers.
