As an answer to new challenges concerning the role of the architect in future societies, a new approach to the teaching of the technological and environmental design was developed by an interdisciplinary team of academics, involving a reconsideration of the basic concepts and strategies in architectural design and its interaction both with the natural and built environment and users. A new methodology has tested in technological and environmental design courses taught to students of the Technical University of Athens (School of Civil Engineering) and the University of Campania (Department of Architecture and Industrial Design) in comparison, where the analysis of environmental parameters is based not only on performance assessment, but also on the evaluation of environmental comfort for users.
