A festa da princesa Mariana: a dança revelando a “turquia cabocla” na Amazônia

Abstract

A festa dá fluidez aos espaços, recria significados e materializa as cosmologias. Meu interesse neste artigo é demonstrar a festa da Cabocla Mariana, princesa turca que atravessou o portal da encantaria e ajuremou-se em terras amazônicas, realizada em um terreiro de Umbanda na cidade de Santarém, oeste do Pará. Falarei da festa não como o produto final de um grande empreendimento, mas da parte que dá sentido ao ritual: a dança da Cabocla Mariana. Em especial, “metaforizar” o giro da entidade como uma hipótese de aproximação com o Sama, a dança sufi girante dos dervixes para pensar: qual Turquia é essa presente nos rituais de Umbanda em Santarém, cheios de princesas turcas ajuremadas, caboclos e índios? A dança aponta para uma linha de investigação capaz de revelar como e porque ela pode funcionar como ação social discursiva e afetiva da sociedade, ao ponto de, inclusive, (re)constituir um reino “turco caboclo” na Amazônia. ABSTRACT: The party gives fluidity to spaces, recreates meanings and materializes cosmologies. My interest in this article is to demonstrate the feast of Cabocla Mariana, a turkish princess who crossed the portal of enchantment and ajuremou-se in the Amazonian lands, held in a terreiro of Umbanda in the city of Santarém, western Pará. I will speak of the festival not as the product end of a great enterprise, but of the part that gives meaning to the ritual: the dance of the Cabocla Mariana. In particular, "metaphorizing" the spin of the entity as a hypothesis of approximation with the Sama, the sufi rotating dance of the dervixes. To think and question: which Turkey is this present in the rituals of Umbanda in Santarem, full of ajuremadas turkish princesses, caboclos and índios? The dance points to a line of research capable of revealing how and why it can function as a social discursive and affective action of society, to the point of including (re) constituting a "turkish caboclo" kingdom in the Amazon.
