Médiation du cinéma documentaire et pratiques des abonnés cinéphiles de Tënk

Abstract

This article examines the logic of mediation of Documentary Films on the Video on Demand platform, Tënk. This action-research analyzes the practices of film-loving subscribers through the design of an interactive prototype, an innovative method. The artefact is assessed using an observation-based protocol to analyze the point of view of a panel of ten users. The analysis shows the appropriation of an editorial line that hybridizes subscription (SVOD) and pay-per-view (VOD) economic models. It also highlights the conditions necessary for designing a social recommendation system within a community of subscribers who share a common preference for non-fiction films.
