Historical and theoretical foundations of the relationship between myth and literature

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of major mythological, anthropological, ethnological, sociological, philosophical and psychological theories and systems, as well as mythologists whose investigations attest to deep interconnectedness between literature and mythology. In the second part of the paper, the author investigates models and possible modes of studying the procedure of mythologisation, as well as the manner in which myth, mythical motives and structures affect structure, composition and narrative technique, as well as the expression and conceptual orientation of a prose text.
