The progressive nature of chronic kidney disease (CKD) creates a long term imbalance and dysfunction, which leads to physical and psychological limitations, compromising the quality of life of these patients The aim was to evaluate the perception of health status and quality of life related with health in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. Were involved in the study 27 individuals. Quality of life was assessed by the instrument Kidney Disease Quality-of-Life Short Form (SF-KDQOL). Domains related to professional role, physical functioning, vitality and mental function were the most altered. It was concluded that quality of life of individuals with CKD on dialysis, is compromised.
