Aim – To study the histomorphological changes in cornea of rabbits during the treatment of experimental keratitis by the eye drops based on nanosuspension of Silics.Object of Research - Eye drops containing nanosuspension of Silics, glucose, levomycetin or ciprofloxacin. Research meth-ods – The microscopical study of histological sections of cornea dyed by hematoxylin-eosin was carried out. To prepare mi-crophotos the “Leika” photosystem and colour film «Коdак» were used. Resuls - The histomorphological changes in cornea of rabbits caused by bacterial keratitis were characterized. The results of treatment of keratitis by the elaborated drops were compared. For all of the groups of animals a clinical progress of disease was in a strong connection with a time of beginning of treatment. Conclusion – It is experimentally stated that suspension of Silics containing levomycetin or ciprofloxacin caused a better healing effect on front epithelium of cornea in comparison with individual solutions of levomycetin and cipro-floxacin. A treatment of bacterial keratitis gives a better result if it begins on second day after start of disease.
