We report here an unusual case of C. indologenes peritonitis in an oncological patient with malignant ascites. The patient was treated successfully by trimethoprim–sulfamethoxazole without removal of the catheter. Keywords: Chryseobacterium indologenes, indwelling catheter, peritonitis, trimethoprim–sulfamethoxazole
