Abstract

The main objective of the article is to extract the scientific innovations found in Sangam Literature. Science and inventions play a vital role in making the world revolutionary. Today, humans from any part of the world cannot imagine a life without science. Nowadays, we are enjoying and celebrating this scientific world in our existence. The growth of science and technique does not happen in one day or night. Each invention and scientific technology is getting its birth only after millions and billions of experience and knowledge. So, science and inventions are not only belonging to this renaissance era but beyond the palaeolithic age itself. Right from Stone Age tools up to nanotechnology, we have millions of inventions and scientific truths today. No doubt, a group of people who had a long period of history and civilization will also have a broad history of science and inventions. According to this view, we can confidently conclude that our cultured, civilized Tamil society also has many amazing sciences in its literature. Tamil literature was nothing imaginary but the real history of real people of this soil. So, finding out ancestors’ scientific thoughts from their periodical literature will make a revolutionary thought about our civilized ancestors upon future generations. Right from Stone Age, The Tamil society got amazing expertise in scientific knowledge in the field of agriculture, medicine, zoology, astronomy, chemistry and physics. Hence, the objective of this article is to bring out the glorious Tamil ancestor's science and technology to the futile future generations.
