Analyser le quotidien Le Devoir au prisme du genre

Abstract

Cet article s’intéresse à l’influence de la structure genrée du quotidien généraliste québécois Le Devoir sur les discours féministes et les représentations médiatiques des femmes qu’il véhicule entre 1965 et 1975. Il examine de quelles manières ces thématiques sont abordées dans la page féminine et dans la section générale et postule que la page féminine permettait de visibiliser des discours résolument féministes et des représentations plus diversifiées de femmes contrairement à la section générale.This article questions the influence of the gendered structure of the Quebec daily Le Devoir on the feminist discourse and media representations of women it conveys between 1965 and 1975. It examines the ways in which these themes are addressed in the women’s page and in the general section and postulates that the women's page made it possible to raise awareness of resolutely feminist discourses and more diversified representations of women contrary to the general section.
