Mexican exports, and specifically those of the State of Veracruz, are mainly channeled into the United States of America. Recent economic and political events on a global scale lead us to reflect on the need to explore business opportunities in other countries. In this sense, Southeast Asia not only represents an extraordinary current opportunity, but it is also projected as one of the largest demanders of goods and services in the near future. In addition, it is pointed out that the countries of that region have a close link with the events taking place in the People’s Republic of China. Entrepreneurs from Veracruz are in a position of diversifying the destiny of its production and enter that region with coffee, tobacco, citrus fruits, meat products, beverages, and other agroindustrial products. Other industries must be developed to integrate the region into global value chains. The situation of this Mexican province is being examined, but with slight nuances, since a very significant part of the national territory has similar characteristics.
