In this paper, we demonstrate the control of the emission of a GaAs quantum dot embedded in a GaAs/AlGaAs nanowire by the post-fabrication of a plasmonic grating on its surface. Using a direct electron beam-induced deposition of Pt nanowires, we demonstrate an enhancement of the emission efficiency for the polarization parallel to the nanowires of 45%, with a 17% reduction in the photon lifetime. We believe that these results will help establish a new hybrid nanophotonic platform for efficient single photon sources.
