Moving towards a pedagogy of listening for boys and girls
Abstract
The article invites reflection on the proposal of a pedagogy based on listening to children. The approached senses have their inspiration in the educational principles of the Schools of Reggio Emilia and the thought of Loris Malaguzzi. These ideas are based on the recognition of children’s expression from a plurality of languages and the appreciation of the culture that they co-construct in relation to the different social actors in the educational environments to which they are part. In order to rethink the imaginaries from which the education of boys and girls is shaped, a theoretical review is provided around these principles, some experiences are reviewed, and ideas are offered for educators in practice and in training.
