This articles aims at studying the relationship between Alonso de Castillo Solórzano’s La garduña de Sevilla o anzuelo de las bolsas (1642) and its television adaptation, La garduña de Sevilla (1983) ―episode from the TVE show Las pícaras―, which has been directed by Francisco Lara Polop on a script written by Enrique Llovet. In order to complete the comparative analysis, I have paid attention to the different contexts of production of both works, as well as it has been examined in which ways the translation of the text into the screen perpetuates or contradicts the attributes that literary critics have underlined regarding Castillo’s book.
