This article considers the contribution brought by five books of regional geography published in France and which have “Brazil” as a title. These books were published throughout the XXth century and are all resulting from a direct research. This following shows us, on the one hand, the main changes in the organization of Brazilian space and, on the other, it witness the transformations undergone inside the evolution of the French regional geography. The challenge is to combine these two fields, while trying to show that they had grown one out of the other.
