Health surveillance refers to the follow up, systematic gathering, analysis and interpretation of the data on health situations, or related conditions, in order to use them in the planning, implementation and assessment of programs. The objective of this work is to put into practice a system for the surveillance of services and productions at the Provincial Blood Bank in Villa Clara by means of ranges which are representative of chronological series. The ranges devised this way, are a graphic representation of the frequency of different events which are permanently registered. The investigation was carried out using a descriptive design of chronological series. The data gathered by the Statistics Department from 2000 to 2006, concerning four events, were taken; and the year 2007 was analyzed based on these ranges. The graphic ranges were done by means of an automated program based on Microsoft Excel. It was concluded that the use of these ranges represent an important working tool which offers conceptual soundness and immediacy, being also easy to use by the direction of the center in the decision-making process.
