Abstract

The title compound, C28H52N66+·6Cl−·4H2O, is a dinucleating 28-membered centrosymmetric hexaazamacrocyclic complex. The macrocyclic ligand adopts a chair-like conformation, with the crystallographic inversion center located in the macrocyclic cavity. The six chloride ions and four water molecules are situated symmetrically outside the macrocyclic cavity. The crystal structure is stabilized by N—H...Cl, N—H...O and O—H...Cl hydrogen bonds.
