Ellipse - Novel Manipulation Technique for 3D Rotation Based on Continuous Axis Control

This paper introduces a novel method, based onelliptical motion, for modulating parameters of a 3D rotation invirtual environment. The basic idea is that user can attaincontinuous control over different variables by dynamicallyadjusting the parameters of a circular movement. The objectivewas to analyze this pattern, to extract different features and topropose intuitive ways for mapping the 3D rotation componentsthrough the ellipse parameters. This technique proved to bepromising on touch surface, due to its geometry and parameterswhich can be used as axis controls.
