El setge de Vilafranca de Conflent per Jaume IV de Mallorques
Abstract
September 23, 1374, the year of the "great hunger or shartage", Jaume IV of Majorca, known to historians as the “Infant of Majorca”, destitute heir to the Majorcan Kingdom as well as the Roussillon and Cerdanya counties, managed to impose himself at the doors of Vilafranca of Conflent, the capital of Conflent. The article explains the episode experienced in Conflent during the autumn of 1374 at a time marked by the obscurity of documents as in all other senses. Today, we have obtained new unpublished sources and will present them through the legend and the history, written here.
