<i>Lagrime di San Pietro</i> by Orlando di Lasso in a New and Revised Critical Edition

Abstract

This article analyses various score editions of Lagrime di San Pietro by Orlando di Lasso. A new edition is proposed based on written and published parameters to facilitate the reading and understanding on the part of performers, while modernizing the composer's original writing. To be able to assess the need for a new edition, these parameters are discussed, features contained in the original work (text and music) are presented and currently available editions are listed.
