CANCIONES PATAGONICAS. Totémicas y Festivas (1963)

Abstract

This paper presents the source CANCIONES PATAGONICAS. Totémicas y Festivas (1963). Shakteo´s songs were registered by the priest Manuel Jesús Molina, and have been saved in the Argentinean Historical Salesian Archive in Bahía Blanca (AHS ARS / BB). Molina was a representative of the Salesian congregation that made linguistic and cultural registers on the evangelized communities since the end of the 19th century. This document is not only a reflection of a verbal art practiced by the günün a küna community, but also a testimony of the instruments and strategies of documentation used on the registers of the Patagonian languages and cultures.
