Le français, une langue en contact au Maroc : de la variation à l’appropriation
Abstract
In Morocco, French language is constantly interacting with different local cultural and linguistic facts. It plays an important role in spreading the wealth of various contacts between languages and cultures. This richness continues to be embraced by imbibing the local repository, mainly its most authentic aspects, rather than the most modern ones. In literature, the presence of French is marked by the abundance of writings and by the plurality of genres. Various Moroccan literature productions in French (novel, poetry, theater, etc.) describe the Moroccan society and its reality. They also show disparate ways in dealing with French and revealing the variations of its mode of operation in the Moroccan francophone space.
