Introduction to the Genealogy of Research Methods in Human Sciences during Iranian Islamic Civilization

Abstract

Genealogy as a method is related to a set of multiples historical techniques used for the first time by fried rich Nietzsche in philosophy. Michel Foucault, the post- modernist philosopher, used to carry out his political, historical and psychological studies by genealogical methodology In this article a new classification of research methods in human sciences is offered upon two axes concerning the precision of hypothesis verification from one side, and the realism of data gathering and data analysis processes from the other side, using genealogical methodology. Finally, an attempt is made to trace the foundations of research methods in human science during the period of Islamic civilization based on the work of Iranian scholars
