Abstract

Considerations on the norms and the translation Having started with the problems of therminology, the author moves on to the differences in the approach to the concept of the norm in different cultures and epochs; she also shows the variations that result from the different treatment of the recipient or genre of the text. She concludes that the main principle, which should follows the translator is Primum sapere et non nocere (First think and do no harm).
