Purpose. The article is devoted to research of civic identity features of adolescents, youth and adult respondents living in the Komsomolsk-on-Amur (the research was conducted in the period 2015-2016). Methods and methodology of work. To evaluate the features of civic identity the complex of psycho-diagnostic tools was used: survey, method of paired comparison, psychogeometric test of S. Dellinger in the modification of the Department of psychology of the Amur humanitarian-pedagogical state university. To evaluate the distance of identification with various groups the mathematical calculation of the degree of similarity between all categories was used. Results. The article presents the results of empirical studies of the civil identity of adolescents, youth and adult respondents living in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (the study was conducted in the period 2015–2016). Analysis of identifying features showed that the national identity in the modern Russian society is dominant over ethnic, religious and universal. The second feature of the identity is associated with a fairly controversial and difficult youth identity: on the one hand, they associate themselves with Russia, on the other hand there are many people who share the universal, global values, associating themselves with the citizens of the world. And it indicates the compound of modernization (the idea of globalization) and traditionalist values (national-religious). In contrast to the young respondents adults give preference to the traditional values of the “Russian world” identifying themselves with the russian community and the Russian Orthodox religious group. Field of application. The results of the study can be used for design of work on the formation of civic identity among young people in the education system.
