Las elites rurales en la edad media como objeto de estudio. Un recorrido historiográfico

Abstract

During the last years historians have focused on the internal differences of the rural society paying attention to the wealthier families of the community. In relation with this, the XXVII International Congress of History of the abbey of Flaran in September 2005 and its subsequent publication Les élites rurales dans l’Europe medievale et modern (2007) proofs the interest in this issue of the rural European historiography. The present paper examines the process of the consolidation of the rural elites as topic in the medieval historiography since the Marc Bloch’s works until our days.
