Abstract: The “crisis” of historicism and the incompleteness of the modern - This essay synthetically examines the historical-cultural genesis and the philosophical presupposition of the concepts of ‘modern age’ and ‘modern world’ in the distinct phases of the origins, the apogee and the crisis, retracing analytically the articulated developments in reference to the most significant approaches of the Historismus.
