This paper looks at choreographic interventions driven by various structures, or generated by self-organised activities in the public space (in public). By studying the different ways in which choreographers-artists surf on the social networks of the dance world we witness how some dancers are able to maintain a sort of independence from institutional organizations. To gain legitimacy in several artistic segments at the same time, they learned to recognize and to make themselves become recognized. Some artists manage, unlike others, to manage tensions and conflicts with their autonomy while remaining creative and vigilant about their place on the artistic job market.
