Modernism and The Issue of Modernizing Algerian Society from the Perspective of Algerian Thinkers

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to identify modernism and the issue of modernizing Algerian society from a underdeveloped society to a modern society. By highlighting some of the contributions made by a group of Algerian thinkers, in studying the modernization of Algerian society, between heritage and aspiration. Therefore, the analyzing of modernism phenomenon of from the point of view of this group, and the new values it produces. As well as, the study focus on the impact on the social identity of societies and individuals. In addition, the study concluded that modernism has not contributed to the development of Algerian society and the production of new values, and that the process of modernizing society has not succeeded in Algeria. In forming a new identity for the man to be produced. Additionally to the fact that the modernization which affected economic production did not contribute to the social re-modernization of Algerian society.
