The aim of the present study was to investigate coping strategies reported by children victims and non victims of bullying, identifying gender differences and school differences. Sixteen children, from a Public and a Private school were interviewed. Instruments to access bullying social roles and coping strategies were administered. The content analysis and the construction of categories about coping strategies were accomplished. The category with higher frequency of citation was Social Support Search, emphasizing the need of professional awareness and intervention toward bullying. The results showed no gender differences and also no differences between schools and among social roles (victims and non-victims).
