In view of the problems existing in the current mine safety monitoring system, such as low real-time performance, unstable communication and easy interruption, sensor failure or over-limit power failure control time, etc, the characteristics of CAN bus, software engineering, Coal Mine Safety Monitoring System Upgrade and Transformation Technology Program (Coal Safety Supervision [2016] No.5) and the real underground environment of coal mine were investigated and analyzed in detail. A strong real-time communication scheme is designed, and the software and hardware of the system are designed. During the continuous operation of the system, abnormal data are not generated, sensor failure or over-limit power off time can be completed locally within 2 s, and the out-of-control can be completed within 5 s. The technical indicators comply with the General Technical Requirements for Coal Mine Safety Monitoring System (AQ 6201—2006).
