The analysis of language is one of the main issues in Merleau-Ponty's existential phenomenology, since language is one of the multiple dimensions of our existence The linguistic phenomenon is intimately connected with perception and thought. That is why Merleau-Ponty takes language (parole) as gesture and as the starting point of his philosophy. Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of language is an heir to Husserl's andde Saussure's achievements, but Merleau-Ponty reaches beyond linguistics. He strives to understand the being oflanguage. This appears as a dialectics oflangue-parole and as the culmination of intersubjectivity. The" late Merleau-Ponty's "ontology oflanguage insists on the existential root of Semiology.
