The etiological, pathogenetic and clinical features of peptic ulcer and symptomatic ulcer are discussed. It is emphasized that one of the most common causes of symptomatic ulcer development in children is long-term administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The principles of treatment and prophylaxis of symptomatic ulcer occurrence have been grounded.
