Educational Institutes Policies and Measures in Preventing and Solving Drug - Related Problems among Youth in Border Areas, Mae Sod District, Tak Province

This research aims to examine policies of educational institutes and measures adopted in preventing and solving youth drug - related problems in border areas at Mae Sod District, Tak Province. Qualitative research methodology was employed with the following groups of informants. - (1) a group of 4 government officials, and (2) a group of 6 school staff members. The researcher used an interview form as a research instrument. The finding of the research consisted of two parts. - (1) Operations and roles of schools under policies, preventive measures and solving problems of drug use among youth. In other words, the mechanism and measures for implementing policies in a concrete way were proactive and coped with problems that arose. (2) The integration of knowledge on drugs in school instructions had a systematic definition of contents called “Drug Study Subject”. Suggestions for future research: There should be a study on the issue of school measures and policies to prevent youth from the dangers of addictive substances, such as e - cigarettes, which are currently regarded as popular among youth
