The article discusses problems of sharing economy influence on the functioning of tourism enterprises. The emergence of new “players” caused anxiety of traditional travel service providers. This raises the question: do the sharing economy companies compete with tourism enterprises? The aim of the article is to identify the factors determining the competitive advantage of new intermediaries (sharing economy companies). The most important factors of competitive advantage of the sharing economy companies are: low capital involvement, low transaction costs, unregulated nature of operations and high flexibility of supply.
