Variability of height increment and the most important climate elements were researched in the Austrian pine seed orchard on Jelova Gora during the period 1993-2003. The seed orchard was established in 1991 by the principle of meta-population structure. The comparative analysis of the above elements shows the correlation between height increment, as the element of tree growth, and climate parameters, which is significant for the correction of the previous opinions that Austrian pine does not have a biological predisposition for the full utilization of the high production potentials of beech sites.
