GERMAN POETRY: LINGUISTIC AND STYLISTIC PECULIARITIES OF TRANSLATION INTO THE CHUVASH LANGUAGE

Abstract

Purpose. The article is devoted to peculiarities of German poetry translation into Chuvash language. Comparison and collation, based on Lorelei by H. Heine and its translation as an example, of both the translation and original is carried out along with evaluation of the translation quality. Lorelei by H. Heine was translated into the Chuvash language by G. Shevken. The purpose of the research is a complex analysis of the translation of the poem into Chuvash language, including consideration of the linguistic and stylistic peculiarities of the poetry translation. Methodology. The main methods of this work are as follows: comparative, linguistic, descriptive, historical and literary methods. Results. The article provides a comparative linguistic analysis of both the translation and original of the poem by H. Heine, and shows the translation quality. Practical implications. The results can find application in training courses on general and comparative linguistics, language typology, literary translation theory, stylistics, as well as practical foreign language training.
