Objectives The aim of the article is to define and present the author's concept of aviation training and education and to identify these terms against the background of other pedagogical concepts. Material and methods The problem was expressed by the question: What are the characteristics of aviation education and training? The article uses theoretical methods: analysis, synthesis and comparison. Results The result of the research is the presentation of the author's definition of aviation education and training. Conclusions Dilemmas in defining basic didactic concepts such as aviation education and training are only a small part of the problem of educating military pilots in Poland. It is still necessary to establish the distinctiveness of such concepts as aviation education, aviation didactics, the teaching and educational process in military aviation and many others, which will contribute to the development of safety sciences and create a paradigm of safety sciences. The analysis and assessment of concepts shows that aviation education of pilots is a long-term process requiring continuous improvement of skills and technical abilities. Education is based on didactic methods such as lectures, seminars, research projects, tests and examinations, which aim to develop critical thinking and analysis skills. Education is related to the school and the educational system, where teachers and instructors play a key role in imparting knowledge and skills. It involves a much more comprehensive process that can last for many years or even your entire professional life, from school education to university studies and further education (including self-education).
