PERANCANGAN MOTIF BATIK BALUNG BUTO TERINSPIRASI DARI FOSIL BINATANG PURBA SEBAGAI MOTIF BATIK MONOKROMATIK DESA PAYAMAN

Abstract

The aim of this article was as a stimulus for creative individuals who were going through problems of the low level of community creativity, especially the executors of small and medium enterprise, low level of interest to take advantage from either historical potential or local archeological heritage, and lack of education and comprehension on the local history in their region, so they could successfully overcome those problems properly. Moreover, this article was also aimed to popularize or introduce ancient fauna fossils at Payeman Village, Bojonegoro District, then the next generation could be familiar with the background of local history and surrounding environment where they lived in. to be able to achieve that purpose, the researcher used these following methods in this research: (1) observation was conducted in December, 2020 through interview and observation techniques, (2) idea exploration, (3) planning by involving expert teams such as archeological team from State University of Malang and all community elements at Payeman Village, also (4) work realization. On the planning and work realization steps, several techniques as development technique and empowerment technique were exerted, so the local community were able to result products with economic, aesthetic, and historical values. Through those methods and techniques, the researcher and all community elements at Payeman Village could successfully yield products with economic, aesthetic, and historical values, for instance batik fabric, batik shirt, hand bag, and tote bag with the ornament of monochromatic batik of ancient fauna motive. The selection of monochromatic batik with ancient fauna motive as the fabric ornament and icon on the product was not apart from the condition of profitable market potential. Based on economical aspect, that motive has never been produced yet in Bojonegoro, while based on historical aspect, that product has historical elements that were able to deliver local history nuance which could be retold to the next generation. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah sebagai stimulus bagi orang-orang kreatif yang sedang menghadapi permasalahan tentang rendahnya tingkat kreativitas masyarakat utamanya pelaku UMKM, rendahnya minat memanfaatkan potensi sejarah maupun tinggalan arkeologis setempat, dan kurangnya edukasi serta pemahaman terhadap sejarah lokal di daerahnya sehingga berhasil mengatasi permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut secara tepat guna. Selain itu, penulisan artikel ini juga bertujuan untuk “memasyarakatkan” fosil fauna purba di Desa Payeman, Kabupaten Bojonegoro sehingga generasi berikutnya dapat mengetahui latar belakang sejarah masyarakat dan lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Untuk dapat mencapai tujuan tersebut, metode yang penulis gunakan terdiri atas (1) observasi pada bulan Desember tahun 2020 dengan teknik wawancara dan pengamatan, (2) eksplorasi ide, (3) perancangan dengan melibatkan tim ahli seperti tim arkeologi dari Universitas Negeri Malang dan segenap elemen masyarakat Desa Payeman, serta (4) perwujudan karya. Pada tahap perancangan dan perwujudan karya, ada beberapa teknik yang dilakukan sehingga masyarakat setempat mampu menghasilkan produk bernilai ekonomis, estetis, dan historis yaitu teknik pengembangan dan teknik pemberdayaan. Melalui metode dan teknik-teknik tersebut, penulis dan seluruh elemen masyarakat di Desa Payeman berhasil memproduksi produk bernilai ekonomis, estetis, dan historis yaitu berupa kain batik, kaos batik, hand bag, dan tote bag yang dihias dengan batik monokromatik motif fauna purba. Pemilihan batik monokromatik bermotif fauna purba sebagai hiasan dan icon pada produk tidak lepas dari potensi pasarnya yang sangat menguntungkan, dari segi ekonomis motif tersebut belum pernah diproduksi di Bojonegoro sebelumnya sedangkan secara historis produk tersebut memiliki muatan unsur sejarah sehingga mampu memberikan nuansa sejarah lokal yang dapat diceritakan kembali kepada generasi berikutnya.
