In the focus of our study was stood the distribution of disadvantaged and traditional students, according to the type and the maintainer of the school. Furthermore, the attention is drawn to the composition and selection mechanism of the school together with the susceptibility to the further trainings of the teaching staff as well. In the investigation, the variables of disadvantaged and traditional status was created on the basis of the law concerning the disadvantage, additionally, school maintainers were aggregated into four big groups. Subsequently, crosstabs and ANOVA analysis were made between the variables. Regarding the results, it can be stated that disadvantaged students concentrate in low quality secondary technical schools and vocational schools where the results of the mathematics and literature is the lowest. The ratio of disadvantaged students is lower in religious schools. Disadvantaged students attend those schools where entrance exam is less typical, the social background of the students is low.
