Using the study of nuclear (ITS2) and mitochondrial DNA primary nucleotide sequences, authors demonstrated that species of Polyommatus icadius (Grum-Grshimailo, 1890) are presented in the entomofauna of Afghanistan. In addition, the molecular genetic studies show that Polyommatus bilucha (Moore, 1884) is an independent species, which is genetically closer to P. icadius rather than to P. eros (Ochsenheimer, 1808).
