Las actuaciones de la inquisición y los escribanos judeoconversos del entorno del conde de Tendilla

Abstract

In these pages, we analyse the role of the Inquisition in the Kingdom of Granada at the beginning of the 16th century and in particular, how it affected the notaries public who worked in the administration of the kingdom, and especially at the headquarters of the Captain General, Don Iñigo López de Mendoza, Count of Tendilla. We have taken as our principal source his correspondence, which also gives us an insight into his perception of the Jewish converts who worked in his service.
