Obesity as a misleading factor in the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus: A case report
Abstract
Key Clinical Message A comprehensive evaluation, including symptoms, medical history, C‐peptide levels, and anti‐GAD antibodies, is essential for distinguishing between diabetes' types, particularly in cases of diagnostic uncertainty. While obesity is often associated with T2DM, BMI should be viewed as a factor rather than a criterion for the exclusion of diabetes type.
