There are few reports in literature on the neonatal care of orphaned armadillos under human care. The present note aims to report the hand-rearing, growth, and development of a greater naked-tailed armadillo (Cabassous tatouay) during one year. The animal was received with its eyes still closed at Sorocaba Zoo, São Paulo, Brazil. For the first two months, it was fed dog's milk formula. Then, the transition to solid food began, which consisted of dog food, eggs, and fruits. During the process, its growth was monitored through periodic weighing. The animal's good health shows that neonatal care was adequate for the de- velopment of C. tatouay.
